What if I told you that this has happened and Coca-Cola did start selling Fanta in a Coke can! Shocking this is! Isn’t it? I am sure you might be thinking that but why would Coca-Cola do so? How does it benefit it? After all, both the companies are producing cold drinks and are competing against each other.

So, let’s dive into this tale of how and why coke become Fanta from inside?

Back in 2018 came Coca-Cola which decided to take a stand for the homosexuals of Brazil. During this time when the awareness about various sexual orientation was from little to zero. But you ask why Coke had to take such a step??

During this time a slang in Brazil was gaining quite the popularity. The Portuguese expression was “Essa Coca é Fanta” which translates to “Is that Coke a Fanta?”

The slang was being widely used to mock the homophobic people around the globe for years. From a distance it seemed like a decent joke but it was far more than that. The phrase was becoming increasingly popular on social media. The expression was being used in memes, YouTube videos and had become too repetitive to remain innocent.

It seemed the people had taken this joke too far and crossed the limit. The hate towards it was growing more and more.

This is when Coca-Cola came with the brilliant of introducing Fanta inside the can of Coke. It introduced a limited edition can with – You guessed it right!

This was launched on the international LGBT Pride Day. Now the expression transformed from “Is that Coke a Fanta?” to “The Coke is a Fanta, so what??” This move of Coca-Cola gained insanely high amount of popularity and people started participating on their own. They started to make fake merchandising and what not!! But what here more enthralling is even the most popular Brazilian LGBT singer loved it. He made a video on this showing the delight in this idea of Coca-Cola. This small campaign started by Coca-Cola won hearts of millions and people proudly shared this campaign online.

So, this is how Coke became Fanta from inside by reversing the roles and embracing the differences faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. By taking such a move Coca-Cola proved that it is not just a beverage company but something more than that. It reminded us that one has no right to judge and label someone because of their uniqueness and differences from the so called created “normal society”. Everyone has the liberty to embrace and accept of who they are and how they feel. The campaign sent a revolutionary message of that it doesn’t matter what’s inside as long it brings joy and happiness around us.
